WATER HEATER REPAIRS

Water heating is typically the third largest energy expense in your Texas home. Your water heater typically accounts for about 12% - 16% of your utility bill. An old water heater can operate for years at very low efficiency before it finally fails. The average life expectancy of a natural gas water heater is about 8 to 12 years depending on how much of a workout your water heater operates under. After that timeframe, it's best to get a water heater replacement.

Many Texas homeowners wait until their water heater fails before shopping for a replacement. This is unfortunate because the cost of purchasing and operating a water heater can vary greatly depending on the type and model selected as well as the overall quality of the installation. If you feel your water heater isn't operating as it should, call us for service. Water heater repairs can save money and also have more hot water to go around your home or business.

TANKLESS WATER HEATERS

A natural gas tankless water heater can deliver hot water at a constant temperature whenever you need it. Now you can have an endless supply of hot water in your home or business with a water heater that is about the size of a briefcase. Since the unit holds no water inside of it, their is no risk of leaking or flooding from the tankless water heater.

Tankless water heaters can be installed inside or outside of your San Diego home or business. With a life expectancy of more than 20 years, tankless water heaters last about twice as long as standard water heaters.

ELECTRIC WATER HEATERS

Basically an electric water heater is an insulated tank filled with water. Electrical elements controlled by thermostats heat the water and keep it hot. Most electric water heaters have two 4500 watt elements. One of the elements is located near the top of the tank and the other is located near the bottom. Each element is controlled by a separate thermostat but the two thermostats are interlocked; when one is off, the other is on. The top element heats water in the top one-fourth of the tank.

When the water in the top of the tank reaches the correct temperature, the top element shuts off and the lower element turns on to heat the remaining water. This contributes to quicker recovery in high use situations. Since the elements are immersed in water, the heat goes directly into the water. This makes electric water heaters one of the most efficient ways to heat hot water.

WATER HEATER INSTALLATION

Have you noticed that your water heater isn't performing well or maybe your long, hot shower isn't as long or as hot as it used to be? Maybe you have just installed a dishwasher or other appliance that uses more hot water than your used to. Possibly your family has expanded and you are taking more baths and washing more clothes than ever before.

It may be time to replace or upgrade your water heater. One of our skilled installers can have this project done for you within a couple of hours. A water heater installation service can be a difficult task for anyone without the proper knowledge, so please don't try and risk the replacement or installation yourself. Installing or removing gas lines is not a project for the do-it-yourselfer.

It is likely that if you are replacing a water heater, you'll simply replace it with the same type of unit that you already have. There may be exceptions to this rule. If you choose to replace an electric unit for a gas unit, or vice versa, call a Soltherma water heater professional to do the job. We have the skills and the tools to get your water heater installed correctly the first time, every time.

GAS WATER HEATERS

The gas water heater is very similar in construction to the electric water heater. Instead of electric supply, there is a gas supply. Instead of heating elements, there is a burner and burner control. The burner is used for heating the water in gas water heaters.

The working principle is based on law of convection. The cold water always remains at the bottom as it is denser than the hot water. As the water gets heated up it expands and moves to the top of the tank. There is also a flue exhaust in gas type water heater which acts as heat exchanger as well as is used in exhausting the combustion gasses.

EVACUATED SOLAR COLLECTORS

Solar thermal collectors are developed to use at low temperature applications (below 100 º C). Its operation is based on the greenhouse effect and the absorbent surface, and are designed to withstand the hardest weather conditions.

The solar panels convert the sun's energy into heat energy, raising the temperature of a fluid, water or antifreeze, that circulates inside.
